PERTE NAVAL

PERTE NAVAL – Strategic Project for the Economic Recovery and Transformation of the Naval Industry encompasses eight main projects focused on diversification, digitalization, and sustainability.

Within this framework, NUTAI participates in the flagship project SAIL2FUTURE: “Marine Renewable Energies for More Specialized, Efficient and Sustainable Maritime Transport”, under project number PNA-010000-2023-3. Its objective is to revolutionize maritime transport through the development of inboard electric propulsion systems for new vessels or those undergoing naval refit.

NUTAI, in collaboration with leading companies such as Reparaciones Navales Canarias, SA, Omnielectric S.L., and supported by the “Aid Program for Integration and Transformation Actions in the Industrial Value Chain of the Naval Sector,” also participates in the core project RECIBATNAV, demonstrating their commitment to R&D through an innovative system. This system utilizes second-life batteries from electric vehicles, combining cutting-edge technologies with advanced digital control and management capabilities.

The project, under the file number PNA-020100-2023-50, focuses on designing a BatteryPack adapted to marine motorization, implementing a specific Battery Management System (BMS), advancing the digitalization of the system, and developing digital operation algorithms. These technologies aim to improve the efficiency and sustainability of fishing boats, recreational motor sailers, and inland waterway vessels.

With a grant of €564,715.80 from a total budget of €706,513.00, this project not only benefits the naval sector but also contributes significantly to the protection of the marine environment.

This call has been funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
