Detection and analysis of finish defects on metal surfaces using advanced artificial intelligence techniques
Nuevas Técnicas de Automatización Industrial, SL has completed the project “Detection and Analysis of Finish Defects on Metal Surfaces Using Advanced Artificial Intelligence Techniques” with file number “2020/0720/00100064.”
This project has been funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and supported by the European Regional Development Fund through the 2020 call for grants on technological development based on artificial intelligence and other enabling digital technologies, within the framework of the strategic action for the digital economy and society of the State R&D&I program, C007/20-ED.
The proposed development consists of several independent components which, once integrated, form the complete solution for detecting surface defects. On one hand, a machine vision system composed of one or more cameras and an illumination system will be developed to highlight surface defects, aiding their detection. At the same time, a software application will be developed to process the acquired data through an AI-based model to identify surface defects.
This technological solution aims to increase the reliability and efficiency of inspection and defect detection processes.
