The award of the production of the GDI 2.0 engine, which equips the Transit Connect van, to the FORD Valencia engine plant has highlighted the need for a transformation of the plant in order to integrate this new engine model into its production line.
NUTAI, a Valencian engineering firm celebrating its 25th anniversary this year by providing industrial automation solutions to manufacturers such as FORD, Renault, and the Volkswagen Group, among others, has been selected by FORD as the contractor responsible for a large part of the line transformation work. These modification tasks will focus both on the assembly line, where NUTAI has the greatest presence, and on the machining lines for engine blocks and cylinder heads, where new machines and an automatic robotic cell will be supplied, and work will be carried out to adapt the handling gantry and parts conveyors.

FORD’s commitment to NUTAI highlights once again—especially in these exceptional times we are living through with COVID-19—the trust and great responsibility that the leading automotive multinational places in NUTAI.
At NUTAI, we are grateful for this trust and continue with firm determination to work towards innovation, digital transformation, and the transition to modular, flexible, agile, connected, and more energy-efficient manufacturing.
